But what awaits the riders during this 112th edition of the Tour de France?

The course was unveiled on October 29, 2025 by Christian Prudhomme, and it is a good part of our beautiful country that will have the honor of seeing the runners of the Grande Boucle pass.

The Tour will start on July 5 from Lille, capital of Flanders and cycling land par excellence. The North will therefore be the scene of the Grand Départ, offering runners and spectators a foretaste of the festivities to come. The first stage, 185 km long and drawn around Lille, should be promised to one of the best sprinters in the world. Who from Tim Merlier, Jasper Philipsen, Jonathan Milan, Jonathan Milan, Wout Van Aert or Arnaud de Lie will wear the first yellow of the Tour? or will a breakaway beat the odds?

The second stage, between Lauwin-Planque and Boulogne-sur-Mer, will test the runners with a hilly course and sections exposed to the wind. The magnificent landscapes of the Opal Coast will offer an idyllic setting for cyclists as well as for the spectator.

Then, it's time for Normandy with a first time trial around Caen, then a stage in Suisse Normande presented by Christian Prudhomme as the most “tricky” in the recent history of the Tour with its 3500 meters of positive altitude difference. Is victory promised to an adventurer - puncher, or will we see the first fight between the general's favorites? What is certain is that the Normans Kévin Vauquelin and Guillaume Martin ticked off this stage as soon as the course was revealed.

The peloton will continue its journey west to Brittany, a wild and magnificent region well known to cycle tourists. Stage 7 will start from Saint-Malo, a port citadel, to set sail for Mur-de-Bretagne with a double ascent of the mythical coast and its passages at 15%.

Then, two arrivals in Laval and Chateauroux on Cavendish Avenue should allow a sprinter to raise his arms. The July 14 stage promises to be spectacular with no less than seven 2nd category climbs or passes. There is no doubt that the winner at the summit of Mont Dore will be an excellent climber, or even a favorite in the general classification because it will be necessary to climb nearly 4400m of positive altitude difference on this national holiday.

Let's go to the Pyrenees in the 2nd week! On the program; Hautacam, Superbagnères and an unprecedented time trial awaits the runners with the ascent of Peyragudes and its 8km at 7.8%. Who will succeed Tadej Pogacar in 2022, Romain Bardet in 2017 and Alejandro Valverde in 2012?

It will be an opportunity to see some of the passes on the program of one of our sports trips, the peloton Pyrenees Hors Categorie which will take place from 5 to 8 June 2025.

Before reaching the Alps, runners will face the mythical Mont Ventoux and its lunar landscape with the ascent by Bedoin, the hardest of the three slopes. If you too want to measure yourself against Mont Chauve, discover our cycling trip in Vaucluse “We rode on the moon”.

Places in the Alps with two stages that should finish organizing the general classification. Stage 18 will leave runners with no respite with 5500 meters of positive altitude difference and a sequence of Col du Glandon, Col de la Madeleine and Col de la Loze. It is the queen stage of this Tour de France 2025. The last mountain stage will be on one of the most beautiful with the ascent of Cormet de Roselend, known for being one of the most beautiful cycling passes in France. The finish will be at the top of La Plagne and its 19km at an average of 7.2%, interminable at the end of the 3rd week of the Grand Tour.

To end this 112th edition of the Tour de France, a return to traditions and the famous arrival on the Champs Élysées, which is used to seeing a sprinter raise his arms. But is surprise possible? There are rumours of a potential passage through Montmartre after the success of the Olympic Cycling event. In any case, we think it's a great idea!
